When Cinderella (enter) the palace, everybody (be) struck by her beauty. Nobody (know) who she really (be) in her pretty clothes and shoes. The handsome prince also (see) her and (fall) in love with Cinderella. “Do you want to dance?” And Cinderella (say), “Yes!” The prince (dance) with her all night. At the last moment, Cinderella (remember) her fairy godmother’s words and she (rush) to go home. “Oh! I must go!” she (run) out of the palace. One of her glass slippers (come) off but Cinderella (not turn) back for it. She (reach) home just as the clock (strike) twelve.

The prince has fallen in love with Cinderella and (want) to find out who the beautiful girl (be), but he (not know) her name. He (find) the glass slipper that has come off Cinderella’s foot as she ran home. The prince (say), “I will find her. The lady whose foot fits this slipper will be the one I marry!” The next day, the prince and his servants (take) the glass slipper and (go) to all the houses in the kingdom. They (want) to find the lady whose feet will fit in the slipper. Cinderella’s stepsisters also (try) on the little glass slipper. They (try) to squeeze their feet and (push) hard into the slipper, but the servant (be) afraid the slipper can break. Cinderella’s stepmother (not let) her try the slipper on, but the prince (see) her and (say), “Let her also try on the slipper!” The slipper (fit) her perfectly. The prince (recognize) her from the ball. He (marry) Cinderella and together they (live) happily ever after.

Cinderella (feel) very sad and (begin) to cry. Suddenly, a fairy godmother (appear) and (say), “Don’t cry, Cinderella! I will send you to the ball!” But Cinderella (be) sad. She (say), “I don’t have a gown to wear for the ball!” The fairy godmother (wave) her magic wand and (change) Cinderella’s old clothes into a beautiful new gown! The fairy godmother then (touch) Cinderella’s feet with the magic wand. And lo! She (have) beautiful glass slippers! “How will I go to the grand ball?” (ask) Cinderella. The fairy godmother (find) six mice playing near a pumpkin, in the kitchen. She (touch) them with her magic wand and the mice (become) four shiny black horses and two coachmen and the pumpkin (turn) into a golden coach. Cinderella (be) overjoyed and (set) off for the ball in the coach drawn by the six black horses. Before leaving. the fairy godmother (say), “Cinderella, this magic will only last until midnight! You must reach home by then!”
